Happy Birthday John!!

John was lucky enough to spend another birthday at Schooner bay.  We started the day with body surfing and a grocery store run.  The local store was closed, so Chip borrowed the dock master's car and headed to the next town's grocery store.   The grocery store was was smaller than our kitchen, and had very limited supplies.  Chip cleared out the milk and egg supply!

After some body surfing, we had fish sandwhiches for lunch.  Then John headed to his favorite bridge for some fishing.  We caught a handful of baitfish that went into the livewell, and while we were there we had an aquarium of activity looking for food.. a turtle, a shark, a sintgray, and eel, multiple lobsters, and of course a bunch of fish all lined up, and fought for some squid.

As usual, Gillian lost a flip flop (multiple times).  The princess had her older brother swim after it.

With a handful of baits, the boys headed offshore.  Same as last year, John landed a mutton snapper and some Strawberry grouper.

John drove the boat from offshore back to the dock..  he did a great job!

We headed home to a surprise of a decorated house and cake for John's Birthday (thanks to Racquel!).

Before dinner the kids had a water balloon fight.  It was fun!

After cleaning up the balloons, the kids gathered more coconuts.  Charles filled a half gallon container and we were covered for a few more days!

They were rewarded with some smoothies!

We had aged steak to celebrate John's birthday and of course some Cake!  We ended the night lighting a wish lantern off one of the platforms.  It was a little too wendy, so the lantern fell straight to the ground.  John went to give it a hand and after almost falling in the canal, it successfully lifted above the houses and high into the air.
