After last year's successful trip through the Abacos (http://2016brennerabacos.blogspot.com/), we wanted to try to head a little farther south in the islands. The plan was to head to Great Harbour Cay, Schooner Bay, Harbor Island, and finish off at Green Turtle. Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen circumstances (broken ribs, lost tooth, termites, and house mold), we had to delay and shorten our trip a bit, but we still want to hit the same spots.. just in reverse order.
With Chip's injury the boys were told they had to help more this year (milking the injury!). They did all the packing!

Not sure what Chip was doing while they were loading up!
We left the inlet around 9am heading for Spanish Cay to clear customs. The forecast looked awesome for smooth rain-free day.
Charles drove the whole way from our dock at the marina to our slip at Green Turtle Cay. Chip joined the others with a little bean bag time!
The water between Great Sale Cay and Veteran's Rock is always beautiful. We could see starfish on the bottom as we were cruising at 40kts. We decided it was time for a quick swim to break up the drive.
We arrived at Spanish Cay in time for lunch and a quick swim in the pool.
Our new fearless captain decided to take the short route exiting through the south end of the marina. There is a shallow narrow channel there and Charles decided it was worth the time savings as several large boats were coming in from the north.
We arrived at Green Turtle Cay! Our house and usual slip at Leeward weren't available until July 3rd, so we camped at the Green Turtle Club for a couple days.
Our successful captain took us over 150 Nautical miles today. He did a stellar job!
After lugging our gear up the hill to our room, the kids came down to rinse the boat.
We were all a little tired and decided instead of waiting over an hour to eat at the club, we would hit the chicken wings on the boat for dinner. The couple in the boat next to us, No Choos Mon, gave us a couple great cheeseburgers too!
A successful start to our vacation!
