July 3rd was a transition day from the Green Turtle Club to Coral Sands, our favorite rental in the islands.
They ran out of fuel at the club and the tanker showed up as we were departing. Charles and Gillian laughed at the smoking sign!
We unloaded at the house and had a quick swim before some rain came. A short downpour was nice to force some down-time on the porch.
Even Oreo Greeted us upon arrival this year!
After the rain passed it was off to the grocery store for some provisioning. All of the main roads at Green Turtle have been re-paved. While we missed some of the charm of the bumpy roads, it was much easier on Chip's ribs. "Traffic" also moves a lot faster now.
We finished our day with some of Brandy's delicious pulled pork sangwhiches and a debate about which movie series we would watch this year. The votes came in with Fast and the Furious. Not sure we can get all 8 viewings in by the time we leave!
While we waited for the movies to download the kids played Jack straws.
On the fourth we started the morning with some Deep Dropping and Jigging. Our usual yellow eye spot did not produce, but we always get lunch or dinner on the jigs!
After some fish sangwhiches for lunch, we were ready for a paddle/swim to the island off our house in Bita Bay.
The kids inlflated the boards and once in the water Gillian waited for her Paddle Uber to drag her to the island while she snorkeled behind.
Gillian took some pictures of the fish on the reef right off the beach.
Between the distraction of snorkeling, an incoming tide, and a nice breeze from the south, the kids didn't make it to the island.
As we had a little time before dinner, we decided to get some of favorite take-out food. Wrecking tree Conch Fritters and Cheese sticks!
We finished the 4th of July with some aged steaks, and of course some fireworks on the beach!
